I was driving home and heard this song on the radio of my car, I simply had to stop and listen to it. I had to stop because I hit a red light! But I did, and this is a gem I had not heard for quite a while, Mott The Hoople, All The Young Dudes, it comes from the days when I was first a little teenage, feminine dude, #dressed like a queen#.

And the other one, I looked it up after listening to 'Dudes'. It is their other hit, Roll Away The Stone, a great British iconic sound....

I'm so many things, but one thing I am, is so Scottish.

I was born in Canada, and in Quebec and yet, I'm only 3rd generation out of Scotland. I'm Gunn clann, and this song lights my blood on fire.

I don't care what the lyrics are, this is my perfect song.

I cried openly during Star Trek 2 when they sprang this on me at the theatre. Never been sadder during a movie.

I want this played at my funeral. Anyone that knows me knows this.

Amazing Grace, the only way I like it, just bagpipes.

And yes, when a neighbour won't turn it down, this is what they face.

Nothing says 'you asked for it' like the glory of the pipes.

Hi Lesley! Did you get my PM, you did not answer? Anyway here is my tribute to the poor souls that lost their lives that day so long ago on that flight, February 3rd. 1959, sixty years next February.... Don McLean recorded the song 'The Day The Music Died, American Pie etc....' it was kinda tribute.

So.... Ritchie Valens, of course, La Bamba!

Here's one for you Lesley as you are Scots and like pipes. Johnny Cope. It's a true ballad from 1745 of the 2nd. Jacobite rising, when Bonnie Prince Charlie led the Scots as far south as Derby, then made a big mistake and retreated, London could have been his.

He got smashed at Culloden by better generalship of the regrouped English, but I'm not going to take sides, even though I am half English with a dash of Scot in that half!

But this is about the battle of Prestopans, a Scots victory over the English a couple of months earlier. John Cope was a useless English General that deserted his troops and fled the battlefield to be the soul bearer of the news that nearly all his men were slain. Prestonpans is near Dunbar. You will like the pipes in this perhaps, even though this is performed by an Irish group with Uilleann pipes. Celia xx

Perhaps the most unusual place I have ever encountered bagpipes, inside of a Japanese anime :)

Made the mistake of finding this song after hearing it during an ep of Suits season four.
Now I can't stop hearing it in my head made worse by the fact I keep watching it :)

Daniel - Elton John.... not for a recent Daniel that seemed promising, but for a friend's child in the early eighties. The friend layed on parties and was very close. He was straight cis and had lots of girlfriends over the time I knew him. He got a bit weird towards me in our friendship in the end, about '90, so I just disappeared.

But I will never forget the nights at his flat, with his truest love Emma and their baby Daniel in his cot. We all knew each other enough to shut up and know what we were all thinking, we were that close. Whenever I hear this, I think of them, they were EJ fans and that's how their child got his name. They split around '85.
